Back to our old stomping grounds….

Mae at the market

Some of you may remember when Victory Farms first arrived in Richmond in 2007. We set up shop at the 17th Street Farmer's Market that year and the next 1 1/2 years.  We always loved this market location - the sound of the trains running overhead, horns honking, city life all around - and it broke our hearts to let it go in 2009.

But now we're back there on Saturdays! We want to be a part of the revitalization of this great spot as well as the upcoming changes to include an indoor farmer's market in the train shed behind Main Street Station.  This is the closest market to our farm which is less than 10 minutes from here (really, I know it's hard to believe, but it usually takes me 6-7 minutes to get to 17th Street from the farm!)

We also see this as fulfilling one of our top goals - to bring fresh, local, naturally grown, high quality produce to a true food desert.  The other markets in town are satisfying a variety of needs in many neighborhoods, but the Shockoe area and Church Hill really need this market to burgeon and expand. And it's also a great place for those who don't live nearby to explore the heart of the city.

So come by our Victory Farms booth at 17th Street Farmer's Market. Currently we plan to be there on Saturdays from 10am-1pm with seasonal time change to be announced later.  We will have LOTS of great produce for you at great market prices! And spread the word!

Sign up for Farm Emails too so you'll be up-to-the-minute on our market and other plans!

By the way, that's our daughter Mae in the foreground above - she was a little younger there - she's about to turn 18 next week!
