CSA's are managed in a variety of ways.  For 2008, we are using a more flexible debit system.  You pre-pay $500 and receive a $600 credit to be used at your own pace throughout the 30+ week season.  Members get the upfront discount as well as additional discounts for specials and opportunities for varieties not available to the general public. New locations, a 3rd pickup day and optional pre-orders provide additional time-saving benefits.  Access to the farmer at the market and at the farm during member's only tours links you directly with who's growing your vegetables.

$500
for the season

Typical share items include salad mix, carrots, onions, radishes, spinach, arugula, head lettuce, turnips, herbs, swiss chard or other cooking greens, heirloom tomatoes, melons, beets, cucumbers, summer squash, winter squash, garlic, peppers, cabbage, broccoli, green beans, potatoes, onions, sugar snap peas, etc., with seasonal variation.

As a CSA member, you're getting great value for the money.  A 2007 CSA member compared her share on a weekly basis to what she could have bought at a local natural food market and realized she saved a minimum of $600 for the season by being a CSA member!  Additionally, she said her veggies were fresher and higher quality.

The CSA provides a great opportunity to receive a weekly supply of fresh, local, unconventional produce that is both full of variety and taste. You’ll also receive recipe and preparation tips to help you get the most of your share.
